Bursary offer to attend the 2025 AAG Conference

AAG, Gerontological Nurses Competencies (GNC) and University of Sunshine Coast is excited to announce a GNC First Nations bursary to attend the 2025 AAG Conference in Alice Springs / Mparntwe, Northern Territory, 11th to 14th November 2025.

This has been made possible by Aged Care Transition into Practice Program (ACTPP) funded by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.

This bursary is offered to support the attendance and participation of 2 x First Nations people who have a nursing background or studying nursing.

There will be 2x bursaries in the form of:

  • 1 x Full conference registration
  • $350 to go towards travel expenses

Bursary Criteria:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Worked or currently working as a nurse researcher or practitioner in the aged care sector
  • Not essential, but details of your accepted abstract for the 2025 conference in Alice Springs / Mparntwe.
  • Have no other source of financial support to attend the conference.
  • Anyone awarded another 2025 AAG Conference bursary affiliated with the AAG (such as from a national, state or territory division) will be deemed ineligible.

Application Deadline:

  • Applications close Friday, 3rd October 2025.
  • Successful recipients will be notified by Friday, 10th October 2025, and must register by Friday, 17th October 2025, using the provided special award code. (If already registered, reimbursement for the ticket amount will be arranged.)

  • Abstract details if applicable: include title, presentation type, and your role in the research, advocacy, or practice.
  • A statement (300 words max) explaining how this bursary will benefit you, your work, and your contributions to AAG, gerontological nursing, and your community.

Expectations of Applicants:

  • If applicable, acknowledge AAG and Gerontological Nurses Competencies (GNC) and University of Sunshine Coast during your presentation.
  • Arrange your own travel and accommodation. (Reimbursement available if already registered and paid for conference registration.)
  • Write a 1-page report on your experience at the conference, which may be shared on the AAG webpage or the AAG 500 blog.
