Blossom Stephan
Professor Blossom Stephan is a neuroepidemiologist and Director of the Dementia Centre of Excellence at Curtin University. She holds the inaugural Chair in Dementia, a joint appointment between Curtin University and Dementia Australia (from January 2023). Her research is centred on dementia risk prediction and reduction across high- and low-and-middle-income countries, with a particular focus on the relationship between cardiovascular and brain health in ageing. She has published more than 230 peer-reviewed papers (H-index 74) and secured over $26 million in research funding. She leads the Dementia Risk Prediction and Risk Reduction in Western Australia (DEMRISK-WA) project. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Dementia Australia Research Foundation. She is a member of the WHO Dementia Research Dialogues community and a WHO expert reviewer. She is an Honorary Medical Advisor for Dementia Australia and a critical partner for the development of the Western Australia State Dementia Action Plan.
